On August 3, campers from across the Triangle gathered at the A.E. Finley YMCA for the annual Camp High Hopes Swim Meet.
Supporting Kids Across the Triangle
Camp High Hopes is a fully subsidized summer day camp for children across the Triangle who qualify on a needs basis. Campers participate in sports, character development opportunities, literacy instruction and traditional camp activities like arts & crafts. Each camper receives a healthy breakfast and lunch.
Friendly Competition
The Camp High Hopes Swim Meet is special because many of the competitors start the summer with no swimming abilities at all. Swim Lessons are taught as a part of the camp. Near the end of the season, swimmers from each camp compete in this fun event. Swimmers receive medals and ribbons for their participation and leave camp having gained the life-saving skills that swim lessons provide.
