We're excited to introduce you to our new Senior Member Engagement Director, Darrian Sadler. Darrian comes to the Poyner Y with a wealth of Y experience. We're looking forward to how he'll support our members downtown. We sat down with Darrian recently to ask him a few questions, and get to know him better.
How long have you worked for the Y?
I have been working at the Y-Full time since December 2019. I started at Poole Y and East Triangle Y as the Youth Sports Director. I moved over to the A.E. Finley YMCA in July 2021 to be the Senior Sports Director there.
What are your hobbies or favorite things to do during your free time?
I enjoy spending my free time golfing, playing basketball, and hanging out with friends and family.
What is your favorite thing about working at the Y?
My favorite thing about working at the YMCA is the relationships you build with the staff and the members who come in. Most of the relationships I have made here at the Y, I will cherish for a lifetime.
What new things would you like to try at the Poyner Y?
One of the things I would like to try is a walking/running group started at Poyner that exercises throughout the downtown community.
