Meet Laura. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. That's when a good friend prescribed the Y.

“I have a friend who had cancer in 2015 and she said to me, ‘once you’re past all the treatments, you really need to go to the Y for the LIVESTRONG program,’” said Laura.
Laura says her healing truly began when she joined LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. She credits the 12-week health and wellness program with improving her stamina and recharging her spirit.
“Cancer rocks your world," said Laura. "LIVESTRONG helped me realize I could be strong again physically and emotionally. I feel the program is unique for cancer survivors. I don’t think there is anything remotely like it elsewhere in the Triangle."
