Laura Young is a special part of our Ingram Family YMCA community! An active Y member, Laura also is a valued volunteer at our after school program at Deep River Elementary!
We recently asked Laura to share her Y story:
"The Y community, both staff and members, are supportive, optimistic, cheerful and always greet me with a smile. Who doesn’t want that?
"I rejoined the Y as a New Year’s resolution for all the typical reasons. I was able to try out a variety of classes and the facilities. I found classes that matched my husband's needs, and now he comes with me. I know it is good for both of us, and don’t expect dramatic short term effects, but I hope we will age well together like fine wine. I also volunteer at a YMCA afterschool program, and the kids keep me young and smiling!
"I would encourage others to join the Y to benefit themselves and encourage others. The stories I have heard from other members inspire me to hang in when I get discouraged."
