Meet the East Triangle YMCA's Personal Trainers

YMCA Personal Training is a one-on-one session with a personal fitness trainer. Personal training will be offered with additional social distancing protocols in place at this time.

Our personal trainers are educated professionals often with years of experience who can help any YMCA member including working professionals, new moms, seniors and triathletes. YMCA personal trainers come from as many different backgrounds and walks of life as our members do, and we take great care in matching members with the right personal trainer.

Lecia Sczepanski

My mission is to help my clients make small and achievable changes to develop daily healthy habits that are sustainable no matter what life throws at them.

I have extensive experience with fitness and nutrition coaching in addition to a background in program and process management. A disciplined and repeatable approach to fitness goals enables consistency, improvement opportunities, adaptability and results. Focusing on a one-on-one relationship is important to me and the key to understanding challenges. I love full-body and compound moves. My favorite workout includes HIIT, core, and strength training in less than 30 minutes!

Miranda Thompson

My name is Miranda Thompson. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science degree. I am also an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. I’ve been a personal trainer with the YMCA for 2 years. I am in the process of getting more certifications. The more I know, the better I can help!

Michael Ellison, Sr.

Michael has been with the Y 28 years, I've been ACE Personal Training certified for 8 years and I also have Behavior Change, Fitness Nutrition, Sports Conditioning and Sports Performance certifications through ACE.

Meg Sargent

She is a certified personal trainer with the ACE. Meg has always been active, but her love for movement came after several knee surgeries due to high school sports injuries. Post surgery recovery was long and difficult and Meg promised never to take movement for granted again. She attended East Carolina Univeristy and graduated with a degree in Public Health and a minor in Exercise Science. She is currently working on her Master's in Public Health, also at ECU. Meg works full time in the field of chronic disease prevention and believes that movement plays a big role in reducing health risk and increasing health outcomes. Meg loves training anyone who wants to improve their health and wants everyone to feel comfortable and welcome in a gym setting.

Danielle Kopper
