Meet the Poole Y's Personal Trainers

 

YMCA Personal Training is a one-on-one session with a personal fitness trainer. Personal training will be offered with additional social distancing protocols in place at this time.

Our personal trainers are educated professionals often with years of experience who can help any YMCA member including working professionals, new moms, seniors and triathletes. YMCA personal trainers come from as many different backgrounds and walks of life as our members do, and we take great care in matching members with the right personal trainer.

Personal Trainers at the Poole Family YMCA

Amanda Griffin

Amanda is a NASM certified personal trainer, and a group fitness instructor. She loves female-focused personal training centered on strength training and fat loss. Amanda wants to help others fall in love with weight training and discover their own personal strength. 
Her love for fitness began when she attended a Les Mills BODYPUMP class after she had her first child. The combination of music and strength training sparked her love for fitness and desire to help others on their fitness journey. 

Carlos Johnson 

Carlos is an AFAA certified personal trainer with over 10 years of experience. He is certified in personal training, strength and conditioning, perinatal fitness, fitness nutrition, and more! Carlos has a lifelong passion for fitness and is dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals.

Laura Taylor 

Lauren is a NASM certified personal trainer.  Along with personal training, she is also a group fitness instructor and coaches the Poole Family YMCA’s Livestrong program. Laura enjoys heavy lifting, and has a passion for teaching functional, lifestyle fitness. She understands how hard it is to get back into a routine after major injuries, too much time away from the gym, or having a child. Laura is here to help you get your strength, motivation, and body back, potentially even better than before!

Rachel Furlough 

Rachel is Nationally certified through NASM and Revelation Wellness and enjoys coaching both traditional strength training and high-intensity functional training. Rachel loves working with people new to weightlifting and with experienced lifters who are craving a challenge or feel stuck in their progress. Rachel enjoys helping clients improve health and self-image. Rachel’s specialty and passion is working with prenatal and postpartum moms.
