Delegate Emme McKelvey from West Carteret High School, AKA the “Parli Pro Queen,” intends to use her influence to make YAG a more inclusive experience and, most importantly, to prioritize fairness. “Fairness is the foundation of a great government,” she explains. At her school, McKelvey inspires people to try new things and walk with determination. She declares that leadership isn’t about titles; it’s about showing up prepared and continuing to fight for what you truly believe in.
McKelvey explained that leadership is never saying, “you can’t sit with us,” a true leader would pull up a chair and make sure everyone belongs. McKelvey believes that every voice matters, and she strives to make people feel included, respected, and heard. In particular, she has helped new delegates write and debate bills, proclaiming that “unity strengthens connection.” If you are passionate about fairness, your vote for Emme McKelvery matters. She finished her speech with a powerful message, “When we work together, the limit does not exist.”
