This morning, Max Lewis, a delegate from Cape Fear Academy, woke up the General Session with his strong and engaging promotional video and speech as a candidate for YAG’s 2027 Lieutenant Governor. If there is one word to describe what he, as a prospective Lieutenant Governor, hopes for in the future of Youth and Government, it is unity. He hopes to “use [his] experience as Presiding Officer to ensure the conference will be the continuation of uniting principles.” Lewis promises to give attention to the judicial branch, ensuring that every delegate receives equal representation.
He has also promised to use this program to help shape the future leaders who become involved in government and to show current politicians how governing bodies should be. Lewis recognizes the impact of YAG, where younger delegates efficiently and respectfully debate and pass legislation. Lewis said, “However many politicians it takes to make a difference.” If you are looking for someone to end the division in our government and unite once and for all, then Max Lewis encourages you to give him your vote!
