We’re excited to welcome our new Super Skippers Head Coach, Katie Olive! Katie joins us as head coach after serving as an assistant for some time now.
A wealth of experience
She has also worked with the Y for over 5 years as a counselor at Camp Rising Sun, a Youth Director at the Northwest Cary Y and Teen Director at the Taylor Family YMCA. When it comes to jumping experience, Katie has that too. She jumped for nearly 10 years on a team here in the Triangle.
When we asked Katie about how her experience will help the team, she said that the combination of working as a Youth Director and Teen Director at the Y, along with her years jumping and assisting the team would be a great benefit.
Setting the Skippers up for success
“I want to set the Skippers up for success the best way I can,” said Katie when asked about what she wanted parents most to know about her coaching style. “I plan to make sure every jumper on the team has the best opportunity to grow in the sport.”
In her spare time, Katie enjoys running, cheering on App State Football and spending time with her dog, a three-legged lab mix named Roscoe. For more information about Super Skippers, visit their website.
