YMCA Receives Duke Energy Foundation Grant

We’re honored to announce that the YMCA of the Triangle has been awarded a Duke Energy Foundation grant in the amount of $17,500. The gift will help fund Camp High Hopes for the summer of 2021.

Camp High Hopes is a summer day camp subsidized by donations to the YMCA's Annual We Build People Campaign. Campers participate in character-development activities, literacy instruction, sports and swim lessons. Each day, children receive a snack and a nutritious meal. Camp High Hopes is offered to elementary and middle school students. and also offers a CILT program for grades 9 - 10.

"We are so thankful for the generosity of the Duke Energy Foundation,” said Doug McMillan, CEO of the YMCA of the Triangle. “Critical investment in our community supported programs focusing on summer learning loss and academic achievement allows us to ensure that every child has the ability to learn, grow and thrive."

Last summer, the Y served nearly 900 children through Camp High Hopes. To learn more about other community funded programs, visit the giving section of our website.
