Leaders Club is a year-long, leadership development program for middle and high school teens. This program provides teens with extensive leadership training and volunteer opportunities that support YMCA programs and services to the community. In addition to teaching teens leadership through service, Leaders Clubs advisors introduce teens to all the work the Y does to strengthen the community, and inspires and prepares teens to become future Y leaders.
Youth and Government is a nationwide civic program that prepares high school students for moral and political leadership. Students join local clubs or delegations. Each club, or delegation, works together throughout the school year to learn about the legislative and judicial process. Delegations typically meet weekly and attend the North Carolina Youth Legislature Conference. Held annually in February, this conference brings students together from across the state to experience the governmental process first-hand through a youth-run and youth-led model.
