Welcoming Week Events (Durham YMCAs)

At the Y, we believe a welcoming community takes all of us—creating spaces where every neighbor feels like they belong, unlikely connections are made, and each of us has the opportunity to thrive.

Welcome a neighbor by letting them know that from September 10 to 19, we will be making it easier to access the Durham YMCAs by waiving the joining fee!

• International Coffee and Tea Time at the Lakewood YMCA
  Monday, September 14, 9 a.m.
  -Celebrate the world in every sip with delicious coffee, comforting tea, and flavors that bring us together!
• Wrapped in Culture Lunch at the Downtown Durham YMCA
  Tuesday, September 15, 12 p.m.
  -Savor the flavors of tradition with delicious empanadas, tamales, and pupusas—each bite wrapped in culture, heritage, and love. Come hungry, leave connected!
• Belly Dance Lessons at the Downtown Durham YMCA
  Wednesday, September 16, 1 :30 p.m. 
  -Come move to the rhythm and embrace the beauty of tradition with a fun belly dance lesson.
• International Games at The Cage on the American Tobacco Campus
  Thursday, September 17, 4 - 8 p.m. 
  -Bring your friends and connect through fun games from around the world!
• Coco Family Movie Night at the Hope Valley Farms YMCA. 
  Friday, September 18, 7 p.m.
  -Families, come and enjoy some popcorn and a movie under the stars with other neighbors.
