July 8 - 12
Drone (rising grades 5 - 9)
This week of camp is run by a licensed Commercial Drone Pilot. Campers will earn to build and fly a drone, creating an obstacle course to fly through. We will also learn about regulations, weather impact and mechanics surrounding drone usage.
Building (rising grades 1 - 5)
We'll create a boat out of cardboard, compete to see whose balsa wood structure can hold the most weight, set up a marble race course and more!
The Wonderful World of Yarn and Felt (rising grades 1 - 5)
During this week of camp, we'll use felt to family pictures, a terrarium and more. We'll also complete several yarn projects, including dying your own yard, yarn painting and finger knitting. Campers will take home a felt and yarn crafting kit at the end of the week.
July 15 - 19
French Cooking (rising grades K - 5)
We'll learn the different steps in the bread and dough-making process while baking French bread, a traditional French cake and Clafoutis. Campers will make their own snack and lunch daily and take home a French baking recipe booklet at the end of the week.
Electricity (rising grades 1 - 5)
Don't be shocked to learn that during this week at camp, we'll learn and use a variety of techniques to create electricity! We'll use a potato to create a battery, use static electricity to create jumping goop, build a circuit with play dough and more!
July 22 - 26
Medieval (rising grades 3 - 8)
We'll participate in a castle-building castle, as well as build a catapult and explore the physics behind it! Campers will take a closer look at different areas where STEM showed up in the Medieval era, including castle construction, drawbridges, motes and more!
Bead Week (rising grades 1 - 5)
B-E-A-D Bead Time! Campers will create keychains, buttons, and a bowl... all out of beads! We'll also create homemade beads and design necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry. Campers will also get a chance to use Bubble Beads and Water Beads.
Photography (rising grades 3 - 8)
This week of camp will teach budding photographers to snap better photos. We'll practice photography on a variety of subjects in a variety of locations, learning to improve composition by focusing on lighting, background, framing and more. Campers will learn how to utilize photographs to tell a story. All campers are asked to bring their own digital camera.
July 29 - Aug. 2
Muffin Tins Cooking (rising grades 1 - 5)
Campers will make their own lunch and snack daily, using a variety of cooking techniques. Meals will include hashbrown cups, snickerdoodle muffins and barbecue beef cups. We'll also learn games to play with muffin tins!
Y-Fi Coding (rising grades 3 - 8)
We're partnering with Tweens & Teens Technology to learn to code through the Scratch program. Campers will get to hear from industry leaders about technology careers and complete a week-long project to present on Friday.
Sculpting (rising grades 1 - 8)
By the end of Sculpting week, campers will have learned and used a variety of techniques with different mediums, including soap, playdough, tin foil and red clay. We'll create and complete several take-home projects such as leaf casting, paper mache animals and a final red clay project. The week will also include a sand castle building contest!
