The YMCA offers swim lessons for babies and toddlers ages 6 - 36 months with their parents. Playgroup classes are offered for children ages 6 - 18 months, and parent-child classes are offered for children ages 18 months - 3 years.
Parents and children play games that introduce basic introductory water skills like blowing bubbles, breath control, kicking and floating.
Classes focus on water orientation and encourages parents and babies to trust each other in the water. Lifeguards are always on the pool deck during swim lessons.
Requirements
A parent or adult family member must accompany the child in the water (the swim instructor may be on the deck or in the water while providing instruction).
Babies and toddlers who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
Registration
Not all lesson days and times are available for Program Participants, due to demand.
*Outdoor summer swim lessons are only available for YMCA Members.
