Group Fitness Classes: Water Fitness

Water Fitness

YMCA Water Fitness Classes are held in the shallow or deep end of the pool. During the warmer months, we use outdoor pools as well. Classes are designed to be easy on the joints and low impact while delivering a good workout.

Aqua Zumba

Aqua Zumba combines Zumba with aqua fitness. This is one pool party you do not want to miss. Water resistance cushions your feet, knees, and back as you dance the class away. Classes are held in shallow water for a great low impact but challenging workout. Aqua Zumba is a fun way to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone, coordination, and flexibility, while enjoying the benefits of being in the water. Moderate Intensity all levels welcome

Aqua Fit

Low-impact, full body workout that improves flexibility, range of motion, strength, muscle tone, and cardiovascular endurance. Exercises are performed in shallow and or deep water depending on the instructor. Movements are motivated by music and easy to follow. Aqua Fit is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Moderate Intensity all levels welcome.

Aqua Circuit

Intensify your workouts with a series of high-energy cardio and strength stations. Participants move through circuits using water dumbbells, noodles, or resistance bands. The water provides resistance, which helps to increase muscle strength and endurance, while reducing impact on the joints. Aqua circuit is an effective full body workout that can improve overall fitness. Moderate Intensity

Deep Power

Invigorating and challenging deep water exercise class that increases cardiovascular fitness, range of motion, and muscle tone. Participants perform exercises such as aqua running, treading water, and HIIT exercises. Floatation belts are provided. Moderate/High Intensity

Aqua HIIT

Shallow water exercise combining short bursts of high-intensity intervals followed by periods of lower intensity exercises or rest. This workout is designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and endurance. Challenge your workout and improve your overall fitness. High Intensity

Aqua Training Camp

A powerful, athletic mix of aqua circuits, lap swimming and group drills. Prepare to be coached, challenged and encouraged through a series of exercises including water running, swimming laps, treading water and other full body movements. Basic swimming skills required. High Intensity
