What's Included in my NC Youth & Government Program Registration?
What do Delegates experience in the program?
Wondering what the benefits of being a part of the Youth & Government program are? Interested in learning what's included in the cost of the year-long program?
Participants in the program collaborate with local schools or YMCA clubs to learn about state government and develop leadership skills throughout the school year. Clubs have the autonomy to meet as frequently as they would like. For safety, we require that each club has 1 adult advisor for every 12-15 students attending the annual conference.
At the annual conference, held from February 13-16, 2025 in downtown Raleigh, participants enjoy hotel accommodations for three nights and four days. During the conference, they will:
- Choose a career role to portray during a mock government session at the Raleigh Convention Center.
- Attend one of our fall pre-conference events to learn more about our program and how to prepare for the state conference.
- Develop college and career readiness skills, including public speaking.
- Explore leadership opportunities and campaign for elected office.
- Network with peers and make new friends.
- Attend the Governor's Gala, a formal dinner and dance.
- Understand the importance of voting and participate in elections to choose program leaders.
- Enjoy "Fun Night," featuring an evening of dinner, dancing, games, and activities.
- Participate in instructional learning sessions in partnership with local universities and program alumni.
The fee for the 2024-25 program is $650 for anyone participating in the program and attending the conference, including adults volunteers, students and participants. Financial Assistance is available. To learn more about the conference, request assistance or register, visit our conference information page.
