Camper. Y Achiever. Volunteer. Counselor. Leader. Twenty-one-year-old Tyla answers to all – thanks to the Y.
“YMCA counselors, leadership staff and Y mentors helped me become the person I am today,” said the college junior.
Tyla discovered the power of the Y as a camper at Camp High Hopes. As a teen, she participated in Lightner Y Achievers where she learned valuable leadership skills. Tyla’s Y experience expanded as a volunteer on two mission trips to Peru.
Today, Tyla pays it forward as a Camp High Hopes counselor.
“The Annual Campaign is important because it provides opportunity. It helps people understand what we do and why we do it,” said Tyla.
