THRIVE Vintage Base Ball Day
OCTOBER 3 – Duke Homestead’s Vintage Base Ball Day at the Historic Durham Athletic Park (DAP)!
The iconic DAP has hosted baseball games since 1926, reflecting a century-long transformation from segregated leagues for black and white athletes to the integrated Durham baseball culture we know today. Players will wear historic uniforms, follow historic gameplay, and use historic equipment, while following 1860 and 1869 Beadles Rules. Enjoy “old fashioned” concessions, food, beer and historic music.
This game is a fundraiser for the Duke Homestead State Historic Site. Tickets may be pre-purchased for $7.18 until Sept. 21 directly from the website; otherwise it’s $10 at the gate.
Shuttle departs at 10:15 a.m. from the Taylor Family Y; returns by 1:30 p.m. Registration opens on Sept. 1.
