Youth & Government 2025 Social Events

By Emma Smith

Don't forget to pack those red, whites, and blues (and pinks!) alongside your blazers, delegates - because this year's event themes are very exciting!

Friday Fun Night

Bring out your blue jeans and most patriotic outfits because this year's Friday Fun Night theme is “Party in the USA”. Friday’s event is the perfect opportunity to relax in your comfortable clothes like hoodies or sweatpants, or even coordinate a themed outfit with your delegation. While you're also more than welcome to stay in your professional attire, you could add an element of American pride to your outfit with something featuring a USA color or motif (think stars or stripes). In previous years, the night was filled with events like glow-in-the-dark bingo, a band, bouncy houses, games, a photo booth, a DJ, etc. So, come prepared to have the best time all decked out in your red, white, and blue!

Governors Gala

As the more formal event, Saturday is our night to get dressed up even further. Delegates often appear in outfits like homecoming attire as the dress code is “semi-formal”– showing out in heels, slacks, ties, and dresses. This year's gala theme is “Valentine's Day”. So, when picking out an outfit, think about adding some pink and red or wearing items that feature hearts to capture the romantic holiday in your elegant attire.

Please keep in mind that what you wear reflects your delegation and yourself when choosing your outfits for these themed social events!
