Sports Camp
Sports Camp at the Northwest Cary Y is filled with specific sports drills and scrimmages with time for swimming and a few traditional camp activities. Pick the sport per week your camper is interested in, and watch them improve their skills and burn off energy in a safe environment.

Sports Camp FAQs
Rides In
Rides In runs from 7 - 8:45 a.m. If a family arrives after 8:45 a.m., they should call the number listed on the sign at drop-off, and a staff member will come out to assist.
Rides Out
Rides Out begins at 5 p.m., and the latest pickup time is 6 p.m.
A counselor will welcome your child.
Parent Orientation
A parent orientation will be held for families at the beginning of our camp season.
Family Nights
These are great opportunities for families to come together, meet staff and enjoy a fun evening at camp! Family Nights happen three times a summer; once in June, July and August. Campers and their families attend a special evening of camp programming and fun.
Specific dates and details will be announced in June.
Campers get to swim every day from Monday through Thursday! Please remember to pack a swimsuit, towel and change of clothes.
Our pool time is 2 - 2:45 p.m. and 2:45 - 3:25 p.m.
At Sports Camp, we keep things exciting with fun weekly themes like Holiday Hustle, Space Jam Week and Hollywood Week, where both counselors and campers are encouraged to dress up and show their spirit!
On Fridays, we have our Showcase, where each group plays the sport they’ve practiced all week in front of the whole camp inside the gym—it's a great way to celebrate their hard work and progress!
On Fridays, we also have Kona Ice. If you would like your child to celebrate the week with a tasty treat, please send cash for purchase in a labeled Ziploc bag with your camper’s name, which we will keep safe in the front office until treat time.

Campers are asked to bring a change of clothes, a swimsuit, a towel, lunch, two snacks, and a refillable water bottle. Most campers pack everything in a backpack.
Sunscreen/insect repellent (lotions and sprays) requires a Sunscreen/Insect Repellent Distribution Form to be completed if you wish for the Y to apply it to your child. This is part of the YMCA Medication Distribution & Sunscreen Application form.
We recommend that your child bring spray sunscreen and repellent for personal use if you prefer they self-apply. Please mark your child's first and last name on the bottles.
