We realize that so much in our world has changed since COVID-19.Your YMCA has been consulting with state and local health officials to ensure that our camp programs are safe.
Please read the following information about what you and your child can expect at YMCA Track Out Camp. Please note: our procedures and protocols are subject to change based on CDC guidelines and state and local directives.
Huddles
- We will operate with a 1:10 staff to child ratio
- Two huddles (no more than 25 people) can gather in the same room as long as social distancing requirements can be maintained.
- Huddles can only interact with their assigned “partner” huddle. For example, Huddle A and Huddle B can play games together but only with each other. Huddle A cannot interact with any other Huddle.
- Campers will remain in their huddles and with their counselor and rotate to activities.
- Camps will not offer open programming or "choices".
Activities
All camp activities will be fun, but modified to respect social distancing guidelines.
- While campers will remain with huddles and counselors, activities will be more individually focused. These activities include arts and crafts, gym games, outside time, KidFit classes, brain games and STEM activities.
- Campers will be outdoors or in open, well-ventilated areas.
- Our daily assemblies and lunchtimes will be modified to respect social distancing.
- Unfortunately, due to state and local directives, we will not offer field trips or transportation to and from pools that are not located at Track Out Camp sites.
Maintaining a Healthy Environment Each Day
- Campers will wash hands upon arriving at camp, before and after lunch, before and after going outside and at other times during the day.
- Day camps held at non YMCA locations will follow the same YMCA standards for cleaning protocols.
- These include frequent disinfection of high-touch, high-traffic areas and daily, overnight enhanced cleaning.
- Activity areas will be cleaned in between groups.
- Per state recommendations, campers over the age of 5 are required to wear face masks when they are unable to maintain a 6-foot distance from others.
