A $75,000 grant from the Truist Foundation allows our YMCA to continue to provide academic support to better our communities that are historically excluded.
EDUCATIONAL EQUITY
The YMCA of the Triangle and the Truist Foundation share a goal to level the playing field for all children. Strong partnerships with local school systems have allowed our Y to adapt programming and develop new solutions to enhance education for all children. YMCA standardized academic support programs supplement learning for students who struggle to reach school-system benchmarks.
ABOUT THE TRUIST FOUNDATION
BB&T and SunTrust formed Truist with a shared purpose - to inspire and build better lives and communities. By proving grants in support of nonprofit organizations through the Truist Foundation, they can help organizations like the YMCA grow their impact. In 2020, the Truist Foundation provided $161 million in grants to non profits - focusing on economic mobility, strengthening small businesses, leadership development, education equity and supporting thriving communities.
