National Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate members of our communities and their ancestors who hail from Mexico, parts of the Caribbean, Central and South America and Spain. Learn more more about Hispanic Heritage Month here.

In the Community
On September 15, the community gathered at La Fiesta del Pueblo -  the Triangle’s largest and most diverse festival of Latin American culture. The Southeast Raleigh YMCA hosted a table at the event in downtown Raleigh.

For YMCA Employees

Y-USA is hosting a virtual event for YMCA Employees on Thursday, September 19 from 1 - 3 p.m. Register here.

YMCA staff will hear from Dr. MariaRosa Rangel, the Wake County Public Schools Director of Family and Community Engagement on October 25 at the ARC in the Assembly Room from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Registration is required.

Events at YMCA Branches

Matty Lazo-Chadderton, former Director of Hispanic and Latino Affairs for the Governor's office, will speak at the Taylor Family YMCA during a Lunch & Learn event on October 3 from noon - 1 p.m. Bring your lunch and listen to Matty's inspiring journey. 

Join us at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA on October 5 for a Community Celebration. Enjoy music, vendors and family activities.
