The Taylor Family YMCA will partner with The Carying Place and Read and Feed to nourish children in our area facing economic hardship.
The Carying Place teaches homeless, working families with children, life skills for attaining independent living while providing short-term housing and support services to address individual needs. Click here to learn about the type of donations that are most needed at The Carying Place.
Read and Feed strengthens literacy skills among under-resourced elementary school children and provides meals in a nurturing neighborhood environment. Kid-friendly, easy to prepare, non perishable goods are requested Jan. 2 - 14. You can help by donating healthy, individually packaged snacks online or bringing them to the collection bins in our lobby Jan. 2 - 16.
The community is also encouraged to join us in the MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m. We need volunteers to sort the collected snacks and prepare them for delivery. Click here to sign up.
For any questions, please contact Caroline Williams.
Watch Party
We also invite you to join us in the Taylor Family Y lobby at 7 a.m. on Jan. 15 as we gather to watch the live stream of the 44th Annual Interfaith Prayer Breakfast presented by the Triangle MLK Committee that brings together community members and leaders in celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr.'s enduring legacy.
