YMCA Honors Veterans with Branch Events

The YMCA of the Triangle is honored to recognize veterans and active duty military with events across several of our branches in the days leading up to and including Veterans Day.

Alexander Family YMCA
The Alexander YMCA invites Y members who are veterans to celebrate their service to our nation. We will share a light breakfast and a short program including a special guest speaker. Please visit our event page for more information.

Durham YMCAs
We would like to honor all of our veterans by creating a Wall of Honor to be displayed at the Downtown Durham and Lakewood YMCAs the week of Nov. 4 - 11. If you would like to be included and/or have a loved one posted to our Wall of Honor, please visit our event page for more information.

Kerr Family YMCA
We would like to honor all of our veterans by creating a Wall of Honor to be displayed the week of Nov. 8 - 15. If you would like to be included and/or have a loved one posted to our Wall of Honor, please visit our event page for more information.

Kraft Family YMCA
Join us in celebrating our veterans at the Kraft Family YMCA with an appreciation social on Nov. 11 from 10 - 11  a.m. honoring our veterans. We will have a keynote address by Karee White and veterans panel, patriotic music by the Holly Springs Community Band, Quilts of Valor Honorees, refreshments and socializing. We would also like to honor all of our veterans by creating a Wall of Honor and map of service to be displayed in the lobby during the week of Nov. 6 - 12. Northwest Cary YMCA
We would like to honor all of our veterans by creating a Wall of Honor to be displayed at the Northwest Cary Y during the week of Nov. 4 - 11. If you would like to have your picture or the picture of a loved one posted to our Wall of Honor, please visit our event page for more information.

Taylor Family YMCA
A Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Monday, Nov. 11 at 8 a.m. to honor those who have served our country. Members, participants and staff should gather around the flagpole at 7:50 a.m. for a flag-raising ceremony, followed by a service hymn medley, fellowship and light refreshments. At 9 a.m. join us for a group walk on the greenway led by the American flag. Members are also invited to display their photo or a photo of a loved one who has served on our Wall of Honor.
