YMCA Overnight Camps are a home away from home for campers ages 6- 16.
We have three overnight camps, Camp Kanata in Wake Forest, Camp Sea Gull in Arapahoe and Camp Seafarer in Arapahoe.
YMCA Camp Kanata
Camp Kanata is a classic summer camp for kids and teens ages 6-17. Our overnight, day and leadership camps provide safe and fun experiences grounded in the natural world. We are an inclusive and welcoming place dedicated to serving families and campers from diverse cultures, races, backgrounds, faiths, gender identities and perspectives from across the country and around the world.
Overnight Camp
A week at Camp Kanata overnight camp is like no other week during the summer. This week is filled with new experiences like learning how to canoe or going down the double water slide for the first time. New friends and new challenges shape campers into confident, independent people.
YMCA Camp Sea Gull and Seafarer
YMCA Camp Sea Gull for boys and YMCA Camp Seafarer for girls are kindred, overnight camps located on the coast of North Carolina. Both camps have more than 700 acres of waterfront access at the widest part of North Carolina’s Neuse River.
Our program provides campers the experience, activities and environment they need to grow, learn and thrive. We are inclusive and welcoming places dedicated to serving families and campers from diverse cultures, backgrounds, faiths, gender identities and perspectives from across the country and around the world.
Overnight Camp
Life at Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer is relaxed and unhurried. Clocks are almost non-existent. Bugles call campers to meals and Taps call campers to bed. Shoes are optional for most of the time and swimsuits are worn almost all day.
But don't let the relaxed, unhurried atmosphere fool you. Campers are learning skills and earning ranks every day on activities. Campers are also learning about being a good sport, how to be independent and the value of good decision-making during our two or four-week sessions.
