Group Fitness Classes: Strength

Power On and Power Up!

Our strength classes are designed to help add definition, build muscle mass, increase metabolism and improve your functional movement. Led by world-class instructors, you’ll get the coaching, support and guidance you need to Power Up and get stronger!

Strength training classes target specific muscle groups or provide an overall workout. Our core strength classes include Blast, Ripped and Strong, Lean and Cut and Load and Lift. 

All classes are offered at YMCA locations around the Triangle. 

Blast

Blast classes focus on adding definition to your physique with a strategic focus. Using higher reps and lower weight improves your circulation, burns calories, and enhances the shape and definition of your muscles. Blast classes use a variety of traditional and functional strength training tools. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.

Ripped and Strong

Ripped and Strong exercises increase your muscle mass and total body strength. Using lower reps and heavier weight creates a strong and balanced physique by focusing on all major muscle groups. Ripped and Strong uses a variety of equipment such as dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.

Lean and Cut

Lean and Cut exercises increase your metabolism and add definition. Using higher reps and lower weight improves your circulation, burns calories, and enhances the shape and definition of your muscles. Lean and Cut uses a variety of traditional and functional strength training tools. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.

Load and Lift

Load & Lift focuses on building your functional movement, proper form and strength using a barbell, lower reps and heavier weight. Prepare to be coached, challenged and encouraged to take your training to the next level. Prior strength training experience is recommended.
