Restore and Core

Restore and Core classes are low impact fitness classes designed to focus on coordination, balance and mobility. Classes range from Pilates to Mindfulness Meditation and aims to bring wellness and health to the YMCA fitness classes. 

Yoga Group Fitness Class at the Y

Restore and Core classes are low impact fitness classes designed to focus on coordination, balance and mobility. Classes range from Pilates to Mindfulness Meditation and aims to bring wellness and health to the YMCA fitness classes.  From Tai Chi to Breathwork and Mindfulness Meditation, Restore and Core classes can help you recover and offer a slower pace class and environment for your wellness journey.

Barre

Challenge your coordination, rhythm and cardiovascular fitness using different postures focused on small, isometric hold and small range motion exercises. Postures inspired by ballet, yoga and Pilates. 

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates emphasizes a balance between flexibility and core strength, which improves posture and provides a better sense of well-being. Exercises focus on strength, endurance, flexibility, stability and mobility.

Stretch

Focus on muscle restoration and recovery before or after a workout. Keep your muscles flexible and strong. Maintain a healthy range of motion while reducing the risk for joint pain, strains and muscle damage.

Tai Chi

Improve your balance and posture by focusing on the gentle, flowing and meditative elements of Yang Style Tai Chi. Increase lower body strength and flexibility, reduce stress and improve memory. 

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness meditation is an evidence-based tool for enhancing focus, reducing stress and promoting emotional wellbeing. Depending on the duration of the class, practices may include sustaining concentration/focus, mindful movement and/or guided relaxation.

Breathwork

Explore the power of your breath as a tool to manage stress and enhance your overall well-being. By consciously controlling your breath, you can influence your mental, emotional and physical state.

Mobility

Mobility is the body’s ability to move joints through a full range of motion unassisted. Enhance your joint range of motion by improving muscle flexibility and strength and stimulating the release of natural lubricating synovial fluid within your joints.
