The YMCA offers volleyball for ages 7 - 14. Depending on age and location, teams may be led by volunteer coaches or YMCA staff, and practices and game schedules may vary.
This spring, sports may look different. While we hope to offer our traditional league format, due to state and local guidelines around health and safety, the YMCA may have to restructure our leagues.
If we determine that we cannot provide a traditional league format, we will offer an academy style program, focusing on skills development and same-team scrimmages within each training group later in the season. Our focus will continue to be on player and team development, coaching with character and keeping kids active and safe in our programs. Once a decision has been made on the type of program we will offer, participants will be notified by their Sports Directors.
Health and Safety
The YMCA will ask each participant to undergo a temperature screening before attending.
Extra precautions will be in place to accommodate social distancing and we have new protocols in place.
Please complete our daily screening form prior to your child's participation in our sports programs.
Teams
Teams are formed based on age. See below for details and locations. Please refer to our age chart to determine your child's age group.
Players
Players must have and wear sneakers with non-marking soles to play.
Coaches
Youth volleyball teams are led by volunteer coaches and/or YMCA staff. All volunteer coaches undergo a background check and training. Opportunities are available for coaches and assistant coaches at all locations.
