Reformer Foundations

Level
Beginner

What it is
Reformer Foundations is a beginner-friendly, full-body Pilates class designed to introduce you to the Reformer while building strength, stability, and confidence — no prior experience required. Classes are taught using principles and movement patterns rooted in Balanced Body training methodology.

What to expect
You’ll move at a supportive pace while learning essential Pilates principles including alignment, breath, core engagement, and body awareness. Expect clear instruction, foundational exercises, and guided progressions that help you understand both the equipment and proper movement mechanics.

Outcome
You’ll leave feeling taller, stronger, and more confident — ready to safely progress into Reformer Level 1 and beyond.

Reformer Level 1

Level
Beginner–Low Intermediate

What it is
Reformer Level 1 builds on foundational Pilates skills to create a balanced, full-body strength and stability workout rooted in contemporary Balanced Body teaching principles.

What to expect
You’ll move through controlled sequences that challenge core strength, coordination, posture, and muscular endurance while maintaining an approachable pace. Exercises build gradually with moderate spring changes, dynamic transitions, and intentional movement patterns designed to improve strength and body control.

Outcome
You’ll develop stronger core engagement, improved body awareness, and greater confidence handling longer sequences and increased challenge.

Reformer Level 2

Level
Intermediate

What it is
Reformer Level 2 is a dynamic, moderately challenging full-body Pilates workout designed for participants with prior Reformer experience and a strong understanding of foundational movement principles.

What to expect
Expect flowing sequences, quicker transitions, increased balance challenges, and deeper core integration. Classes may include advanced exercise variations, longer endurance sets, and more complex coordination patterns while maintaining the precision, control, and alignment emphasized in Balanced Body training.

Outcome
You’ll build strength, endurance, mobility, and control while advancing your confidence and proficiency on the Reformer.

Cost & Registration

All Pilates Reformer classes must be purchased and booked through the YMCA fitness app. 

1 class: $20
4 classes: $60
8 classes: $90

Cancellations & No-Shows

Pilates Reformer classes have very small class sizes and limited equipment. Our cancellation and no-show policies help ensure fair access for all members and keep class spots available for those ready to attend.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged.
  • No-shows will result in a session deduction or strike.
