Getting the Most out of the YMCA Mobile App

Downloading the YMCA Mobile App

Did you know that the Y of the Triangle has a mobile app? Our app is designed to be your all-in-one solution to staying connected to your goals and the YMCA community.

Whether you're managing your schedule or looking to stay on track with your wellness goals, the YMCA app makes it simple.

Class Schedules and Group Fitness Reservations

Using the YMCA Mobile App, you can view facility schedules and reserve a space in high-demand activities like group fitness, lap swimming or sports courts.

To see schedules simply navigate to the home page of the app. Scroll down to find group fitness, gym and pool schedules (if applicable) tap on any of the buttons to see those schedules.

Tracking Your Workouts in the App

Did you know you can use our mobile app to track your fitness? You can add workouts manually or simply connect your fitness tracker of choice to the app to track your workouts automatically.

Virtual Classes & Wellness Challenges

Looking for ways to stay motivated and active? You can access virtual classes taught by our instructors or Les Mills classes right from our app.

Plus, you can join YMCA Wellness Challenges throughout the year, and track your progress right in the app.

The easiest way to book your fitness class or reserve time on the racquetball court is through the YMCA's mobile app. It's synced to our online registration system, so the username and password used to purchase a YMCA membership, or programs such as personal training, summer day camp or swim lessons, will be used to access the app.

Reservations Required

YMCA membership is required to participate in classes. To accommodate everyone, all group fitness classes require a reservation through our mobile app or online on our schedules page.

Reservations open 48 hours before each bookable session start time and are available until class starts or until all spaces are filled. There’s no fee to sign up. You will be asked to scan your YMCA membership card when you come to the YMCA.

If you cannot attend a previously reserved class, court time or lap lane, please cancel your booking. All reservations can be canceled via the app through the "My Bookings" tile.

Notifications

The app and scheduling system will use your email to send notifications about your reservations and cancellations. If you are not receiving these notifications, please check your spam folders and also ensure you provided us with an accurate, current email address you can check.

Class Check In

The Chatham Park, Kraft Family, Northwest Cary and Taylor Family YMCAs are beginning a new group fitness class check-in procedure. Members will check-in using kiosks outside each studio and pool area before every class.

Member check-in ensures that YMCA fitness classes are not overcrowded and everyone who has booked a space has one.

Check In Common Questions

How early can members check into classes?
Member check-in will open 30 minutes before class start time.

How are names listed on the check-in screen?
Names are listed in alphabetical order by first name.

What happens if member names are missing on the check-in list?
First, refresh the check-in screen. If that does not resolve the issue, check with YMCA staff or the instructor and show the confirmation email of the class booking reservation. If members do not have an email confirmation, please wait until the class starts and join if there are any spaces available.

What happens if a member is late for class?
Class check-in will close at the start of the class. This is to ensure the class starts on time and there are no disruptions to the class experience. You may enter the class late only with YMCA instructor or staff approval.

Can members check in friends or family members who are running late?
No. Members may only check in themselves. If you are found checking others in for class, the YMCA may restrict your ability to book and attend further classes.

When can a member join a class if they are on the waitlist but have not been moved up to the class roster?
Class check-in will close at the start of the class. If the class still has space, you can enter the studio with approval of the instructor or other YMCA staff.

What if a member needs to cancel a reservation?
Members can cancel reservations by following the instructions in their confirmation email or through the app under the “My Bookings” tile. Please cancel classes within two hours of the class start time to allow for others who are on the waitlist to join the class.

Can a member attend a class if they are not on the check-in list?
Class check-in will close at the start of class. If there is space available, you are welcome to join the class with YMCA instructor or staff approval.
