November 2024
Landscaping is taking shape outside. The two pools are being finalized with fencing, deck lighting and plastering. Parking lots and curb work are nearing completion. Many interior finishes are complete, including lines on our gymnasium floor (it's the little things that make it feel so close)! Our Kid Zone's playground is coming together and the airnasium basketball goal has been installed.
Mid-October 2024
Active progress continues in all corners of our future facility!
The majority of data and A/V cabling has been completed. Interior "storefront" framing has been installed. Locker room millwork and toilet partitions are nearly completed. Initial painting has been done and metal ceiling installation has begun. Elevator installation is in progress.
Outside, pool fencing and the water slide are being installed, along with additional sidewalks and stairs.
Early October 2024
The facility is making great progress as we move into the fall season.
On the lower level, wood flooring is beginning to be installed in the group fitness studios and the first coat of paint has started on many of the walls. Very soon, carpeting will begin!
On the first floor, mechanical, electrical and plumbing are being installed in the ceiling. Ceiling tiles will be placed in the ceiling grid soon.
Outside, the exterior building continues to have metal panels installed. The pool deck and sidewalk concrete has begun being poured. Landscaping is set to begin in early October!
Our anticipated Spring 2025 opening will be here before we know it, so keep an eye out for more dedicated update communications to our members and those who have joined our interest list.
August 2024
Duke Energy has landed power to the site that will provide the permanent power needed to energize HVAC equipment, lighting, and to begin some of the temperature-dependent finish work (tile, wood floor, etc.).
The building is generally dried-in with window frames and glass progressing through the end of July.
Most of the HVAC interior equipment is in place in mechanical spaces and above ceilings. Electrical wiring is being pulled and we’ve just begun to pull data and AV services through the building.
The pool shells are in place with piping being placed to connect to the equipment room. Some general site grading is beginning in preparation for concrete work that will be followed by landscaping (into October).
The next major work area is installation of the metal panel systems on the building exterior. This work should be underway in early August and will result in the stand-out presentation of this building within the North Village of Chatham Park.
