Sports Camp
Sports Camp is filled with specific sports drills and scrimmages with time for swimming and a few traditional camp activities. Pick the sport per week your camper is interested in, and watch them improve their skills and burn off energy in a safe environment. Camp is held at Wakefield Elementary.
Sports Camp Sessions
There will be five weeks of Sports Camp this summer. July 3 is a holiday, and camp will be closed.
Registration
All YMCA Day Camps require a $20 deposit per session. If you do not have a YMCA account, you can create one at the time of registration.
Sports Camp FAQs
Coming soon!
Our drop-off (Rides In) and pick-up (Rides Out) will operate from the bus loop at Wakefield Elementary.
Rides In will be from 7 – 8:45 a.m. During this time, we offer curbside drop-off while campers play in mixed groups. From 8:45 – 9:15 a.m. we will continue to offer curbside drop-off, however; campers will be in their Huddle Groups for snack and assembly.
Rides Out will start at 5 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. During this time, our leadership staff will be outside in the bus loop assisting cars.
*Parents arriving after 6 p.m. will be issued a late fee of $5 until 6:10 p.m. and then $1 for every minute thereafter.
Weather permitting, we swim in our indoor pool every day. Our kindergarten campers swim in our indoor splash pool. Swim band testing is optional and only offered on Mondays. Campers that do not have a swim band will be provided with a YMCA life jacket. Campers must have a swim band or life jacket to swim in our pool. Campers in the splash pool do not need either to participant in swim time.
Campers are asked to bring a change of clothes, a swimsuit, a towel, lunch, two snacks, and a refillable water bottle. Most campers pack everything in a backpack.
Sunscreen/insect repellent (lotions and sprays) requires a Sunscreen/Insect Repellent Distribution Form to be completed if you wish for the Y to apply it to your child. This is part of the YMCA Medication Distribution & Sunscreen Application form.
We recommend that your child bring spray sunscreen and repellent for personal use if you prefer they self-apply. Please mark your child's first and last name on the bottles.
Our weekly parent e-newsletter will go out every Friday prior to the week campers are registered for. Within the newsletter we will have Huddle highlight information and updates. Within this email we will have a link to our private Facebook group. Our Facebook group will have daily photos from around camp and staff interviews. We highly suggest parents join this group.
