Summer 2025

YMCA traditional Summer Day Camps are packed with activities, games and fun. Campers spend the day swimming, creating crafts and art, playing sports like kickball, pickup basketball, and soccer and playing games like gaga ball and capture the flag. Campers spend time inside and outside during the day depending on the weather and activity. Read more about a typical day at YMCA Day Camp.

All campers are encouraged to try everything, to do their best and are led by a team of YMCA youth staff and counselors.

From fun field games to archery and swimming, our counselors use activities and camp experiences to teach values like caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith in God – things that last long after summer is over. Camp Kerr is located at the Kerr Family YMCA and is open to campers in rising grades K – 8.

Session Theme Previews

• WEEK 1 Spirit Week: “We got spirit, yes we do, we got spirit, how about you!” We can’t wait to see all of your spirit this week, as every day this week is “Wacky Wednesday.” Each day we will be dressing up centered around a different theme and showing off our huddle pride!
• WEEK 2 Shipwrecked: Ahoy, there - Be on the lookout for pirates! We will learn about treasures under the sea and on land through art, STEM, games, and more! Whether you want to find the buried treasure or walk the plank, you are in for a fun-filled week of discovery.
• WEEK 3 Party In The USA: Oh say can you see…..another amazing week of summer camp? We will celebrate the birth of our great country with patriotic-themed events. Including a firetruck hose down!
• WEEK 4 Wild, Wild West: Howdy, Campers! Dust off your tennis shoes and grab a bandana because we are going back to the wild, wild west. We'll learn about our cowboy code of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility which will guide us through all of our western adventures.
• WEEK 5 Splashtacular: Beat the summer heat with a wet and water-filled week of thrilling activities. Who knows? You might experience baby pools, water balloons, super soakers, wild water games and activities. Your camper will be sure to have lots of water fun! Get ready to be in the splash zone!
• WEEK 6 Dino-mite: Get ready for a dino-mite week of camp as we go back in time to our own Jurassic World! Don't worry about the raptors--whether you're on a dig for fossils or you're running a race in your new T-Rex feet you can count on having lots of prehistoric fun.
• WEEK 7 Superheroes: All superheroes report to duty! We need everyone to unite and defeat the camp villains by creating strategies to protect the entire camp. Learn what it takes to become a superhero and show how to use caring, honesty, respect and responsibility to guide your adventure!
• WEEK 8 Animal Kingdom: Lions, and Tigers and Bears Oh MY! Campers will explore the amazing world of animals through week-long activities. From learning about exotic creatures to getting up close and personal with local wildlife. This week is sure to be a roaring good time!
• WEEK 9 Once Upon A Time: In a land far, far away we will be going for our week 6 of camp at the Kerr YMCA! We will be hanging out with our favorite story book and movie characters, playing some good ol’ wizarding games, and singing along to our favorite songs!
• WEEK 10 Camp Rewind: Campers will rediscover the magic of summer's past with classic activities and cherished traditions. Join us for a week filled with traditional fun and the nostalgia of summers gone by.
