Chapel Hill Y Day Camp: CILTS

980 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill, NC 27514

This camp is a leadership development program for teens. Your teen can gain leadership experience and serve as a role model for younger campers while he or she assists counselors and staff with summer camp activities.

CILT camp is open to rising grades 8 – age 15 and is operated through the Chapel Hill - Carrboro YMCA.

Registration/Application Process:

  1. Register Online (beginning Jan. 1 for members, Jan. 15 for non-members)
  2. Complete this CILT application (new and returning participants)
  3. Teen attends group interview (new participants only)
    -Sat., April 19, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
    -Sun., May 11, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Please DO NOT WAIT TO REGISTER as spots do fill up quickly! Applications and group interviews are not a pass/fail system unless the teen director deems that a participant is concerningly ill-equipped to participate in the CILT program as determined in the group interview process.

At Camp, Character Matters

At YMCA Summer Day Camp, campers earn beads for exemplifying our five character traits: Honesty, Respect, Caring, Responsibility and Faith. Campers can earn beads daily by being a good friend, picking up after themselves or leading a camp prayer.
