Group Fitness Classes

Our YMCAs offer a wide variety of group fitness classes for almost every ability and interest.  You'll find low-impact and beginner classes, cardio fitness, dance, Pilates, cycle and Yoga and more advanced cycle, boot camp and kickboxing classes.

YMCA group fitness classes are for YMCA members and reservations are required for most classes. Members can make reservations through the website or with our YMCA Fitness App. 

Our YMCA offers more than 100 different group fitness classes per week across our Association of 19 YMCAs. Most locations also have a Kid Zone area; on-site child care available for up to two-hours a day for YMCA members while you work out. 

GROUP FITNESS CLASS TYPES

Conditioning

Conditioning classes are deigned to incorporate both cardio and strength moves. Join a class and ge your heart rate up, get moving and get results. Classes include MetCon, Interval Training, Cardio Strength and Kickboxing. 

Cycle

Most YMCAs have dedicated Cycle studios with immersive screens, the latest technology, supporting apps and a community of riders and instructors who will help you learn to ride and challenge you. 

Dance

Dance classes are designed to move your body and fuel your spirit with popular and on-trend music and moves. No experience is needed for classes from Line Dancing to Zumba.

Les Mills

We offer several Les Mills classes at select locations. Les Mills classes are popular and we offer BodyPump, RPM, Grit and BodyCombat. 

Restore and Core

YMCA Restore and Core classes are low impact fitnes classes designed to focus on coordination, balance and mobility. Classes range from Pilates to Mindfulness Meditation and can help you recover and offers a slower pace for your wellness journey. 

Step

Use a platform bench to get your cardiovascular conditioning! Step is fun, upbeat and has varying levels of choreography and complexity. 

Strength

Strength classes are designed to help d definition, build muscle mass, increase metabolism and improve functional movement. YMCA Strength classes target specific muscle groups or provide an overall workout. Classes include Blast, Ripped and Strong and Load and Lift. 

Thrive

YMCA THRIVE are fitness classes adapted and structured for members who need a lower-impact, slower-paced class. These might be movement bases, like Tai Chi or Yoga, or may use a chair or other assistance for strength and conditioning workouts. 

Water Fitness

YMCA Water Fitness classes are held in the shallow or deep end of the pool. During the warmer months, we use outdoor pools as well. Classes are designed to be easy on the joints and low impact while delivering a good workout. 

Yoga

YMCA Yoga classes connect the breath, body and mind through poses and movements designed to strengthen, lengthen and tone your physical body. Yoga can improve your strength, balance and flexibility. 

Making Reservations

YMCA group fitness classes are for YMCA members age 14 and older. (Members under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.) Reservations are required for our group fitness classes. You can reserve your spot 48 hours in advance through our schedules page or on our mobile app
