NC YMCA Youth & Government

Youth and Government is a nationwide civic program that prepares high school students for moral and political leadership.

Youth and Government empowers high-school students by giving them the opportunity to learn about and experience government policies firsthand with a goal of understanding how to be changemakers and improve their communities. Students can join Youth & Government through a local delegation found in their high school or local YMCA. The program is offered August - February. Registration for our annual conference typically opens in September of each year. To learn more about Youth & Government, click the link below.

Learn More

North Carolina YMCA Youth and Government  is a civics program that prepares high school students for moral and political leadership. Students join local YMCA clubs or school delegations. Each club, or delegation, works together throughout the school year to learn about the legislative and judicial process.

Delegations attend the North Carolina Youth Legislature Conference each year.  Held annually in February, this conference brings students together from across the state to experience the governmental process first-hand through a youth-run and youth-led model.

Registration for the Annual Conference typically opens in September. Learn more about what is included in the registration fee.
